Do your New Year’s resolutions involve improving your nutrition? Have you wanted to increase your knowledge on how to select foods for yourself or your family? Do you want help sorting through all of the nutrition information that is swirling around in the media? What is ‘health food’ anyway?
Marilyn Knuth, registered dietitian at the Caughlin Athletic Club, is excited to present a 6-week workshop which will cover these topics and many more! Decoding nutrition labels and ingredient lists, discussion on “portion distortion” and the endless ways in which it is affecting our nutrition, how to make wise choices at restaurants, tips on how to start an individualized lifestyle change program, and several other subjects will be discussed. Topics requested by the class participants may also be addressed.
Classes will meet weekly for one hour. Classes are scheduled for Thursdaynights at 6:30 pm starting January 29 and will go through Thursday, March 5, 2015.
The fee for the workshop is $100 per person. Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Please note, a minimum number of people must sign up for the class to be held; refunds will be provided if the minimum number is not reached.
Deadline for sign-up is end of business on Tuesday, January 27, 2015. Sign up at the front desk of the Caughlin Athletic Club. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Also, remember that Marilyn is available for individual and family nutrition counseling. If you would like to set up an appointment with her, please email her directly at marilyn.knuth@gmail.com.
